Accounting Specialist Position

  • Salary                                    $13-$16/hour, depending on experience
  • Employment Status:            Full time/Non-exempt
  • Schedule:                              Monday-Friday

Description of Duties:

Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and monthly financial reporting.

  • Full-cycle Accounts Payable:
    Maintain Vendor records to include W-9 requirements
    Enter bills reflecting accurate account coding and due dates
    Create and mail weekly check runs according to due dates and include cash report
    Annual 1099’s
  • Process and pay other expenses:
    Credit card charges entered, reflecting accurate account coding
    Employee reimbursements
  • Assist with maintaining accurate aircraft charges in operational systems:
    Flight Charges, Aircraft Parts and Outside Services
    Reconcile all bills/charges against operational systems POs and/or expense forms
    Ensure accurate costing by aircraft for all aircraft relative charges
    Prepare exports into accounting system from operational systems
    Import data into accounting system
  • Accounts Receivable:
    Post payments against open Invoices
    Create Deposits
    Manage AR Aging and collect on past due accounts
  • Prepare exports into accounting system from operational systems
    Import data into accounting system
  • Input bi-weekly payroll data
  • Monthly Reconciliations
    Bank Statement
    Credit Card Statements
    Aircraft Fuel
    Payroll to include Employer Paid Benefits (i.e. Group Health Insurance invoices)
  • Prepare Form 720 and submit on-time, monthly
  • Aircraft Owner Reporting
    Compile data from operational & accounting systems
    Accurately reflect aircraft specific data into financial reports generated for each aircraft
    Accurately represent expense responsibility as defined in the aircraft management agreement(s).

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  •  1-2 years accounting experience, minimum
  • Working knowledge of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Intermediate to Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience and familiarity with computer systems
  • Team oriented with solid attention to detail; ability to work independently and self-motivate
